Wild Frontiers was established in 1991 by

John (left) and Debbie Addison (right),

as a Specialist Tour Operation offering safaris into East, West and Southern Africa. John is a seventh generation South African who has guided in most parts of Africa for over 20 years, and Debbie is English, having lived in Africa for over 25 years.
  Wild Frontiers - The Company

Wild Frontiers are active members of SATOA / ASATA (The South African Tour Operators Association), as well as SATSA (South African Tour & Safari Association), our Uganda operation belongs to AUTO (the Association of Uganda Tour Operators), and the Tanzanian operation is fully registered and belongs to TATO.  All operations have full public and passenger liability insurance.

The owners and staff of Wild Frontiers have operated safaris in Africa since the early 1980's, as such can offer first-hand advice to passengers.  We are continually trying out new destinations or visiting existing operations to ensure that they are still up to our high standard.  It is company policy that all consultants should personally visit all the areas we market regularly. We also ensure that our operations are run in an environmentally aware manner, and contribute to the well being of the region and its inhabitants.   Wild Frontiers has offices/representation in South Africa, Uganda and Tanzania.

From Uganda through to Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, to the west of Gabon, Sao Tome and Congo, as well as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa - a broad range of products from luxury lodges to camping, diving, climbing, bird watching, adventure activities and special interest safaris are available.  Tailor-made FIT, groups, escorted safaris, incentives and conferences as well as set departure dates are available. As well as these, we can arrange ANYTHING in our areas of expertise.

We have run trips and hosted film crews for such celebrated media as BBC, National Geographic, Conde Nast, Getaway Magazine, M- Net, Discovery Channel etc, and for major wholesalers from USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, France, Japan and Denmark

Other members of the pride

Corne Duvenage (Product & Marketing):

The “mountain nut” in the office has summited Kilimanjaro many times.  He's also summited Margherita Peak in the Ruwenzoris (Mountains of the Moon in Uganda), and done extensive trekking in the Himalayas.  He generally conducts the information evenings at our offices.  Travelled to places like Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda, Nepal, India, United States and Mexico. Rafted the Zambezi and did the Bungy as well as the gorge swing in Zambia, tracked gorillas and wild chimps in Uganda and swam with the dolphins in Mexico.  He generally tries to stay busy and out of trouble! He's an avid diver and loves adventure and adrenaline.

Linda Willemse (Sales & Marketing)

Whether paragliding, hang gliding, rock climbing, cycling, hiking, filming or painting, Linda is happy just as long as there's nature and adrenaline involved.  She has travelled Africa from the Cape as far north as Ethiopia and West to Ghana, 'done' Peru's Amazon & Inca Trail, hiked & glided Europe's mountains, lived in the Namib Desert and explored Bali on a motorcycle.  The travel industry has been her passion since 1995 and she still loves it!! She always says: 'What is a dream worth if you can not find the courage to make it come true?' Linda's your contact for any regional marketing and sales.

Annetjie Lourens (Web Developer):

I joined the WILD, after being a "Jack" for a few years, that's Jack of all trades.
I travelled up to England and Scotland a bit working in between, mostly in Admin in a whole variety of institutions except those for the mentally insane. I've always loved travelling and I guess everything pointed towards me working in the industry and I'm loving every second of it, there's something to be discovered every day! I love different places and meeting different people, and the outdoors, all animals and music are my soul food.

Sharon van Rensburg (Accounts Department):

UK born but Southern African raised.  Passionate about my "kids", family, animals and anything to do with nature.  Climbed the big hill (Kili) twice, once with kids in tow (or were they towing me??).  Any horse combined with wildlife holiday is top of my tree. What am I punching numbers for?  'Cos I'm proud to be a part of this "Wild" family.

Margie Goldring (Accounts Department)::

Zimbabwe born, with a passion for Africa and its Fauna and Flora. I spent 6 months travelling overland through Africa - leaving Mutare Zimbabwe and arriving in London - having visited 16 countries. The highlights being the humbling of the Mountain Gorilla, and the silence of the Sahara Desert. Star sign Libra - finds me balancing figures at Wild Frontiers with the Wild Ones. – It's all within Nature.

Samantha Backstrom (Assistant Product Manager):

I have always had a love and deep appreciation for Africa especially for its wildlife and the great outdoors. In 2002 I qualified in Game Ranging and Lodge Managment and after that went onto working in various lodges, besides guiding I gained great insight into hand raising animals aswell as doing animal documentary's which was an added bonus. In 2007 I went to work in the Uk for a while but was not gone long before returing to my beloved country. I then joined a 5 star hotel in Guest Relations which assisted later on in me becoming a Recruitment Consultant for the hotel industry which has brought me to where Iam today Wild Frontiers...I have travelled all over South Africa and Mozambique... I look forward to alot more great adventures with Wild Frontiers.
